Gurugram: Air India, the country’s flagship international carrier, has announced new interline agreements with four prominent airlines – airBaltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways, and Uzbekistan Airways – substantially boosting connectivity across Europe and Central Asia.
The partnerships, unveiled at the ongoing 81st IATA Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, offer Air India customers streamlined access to 16 additional destinations across six countries in the Baltics, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.
These agreements also enable passengers from partner carriers to conveniently reach more than 30 cities across India, including major metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
With single-ticket itineraries and coordinated baggage handling, these interline agreements enhance the travel experience and simplify long-haul journeys. The move also strengthens the company’s ambition to serve as a global aviation bridge connecting India with the world.
Expanded Regional Access through Interline Gateways:
- airBaltic: Offers connectivity to Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Vilnius (Lithuania) via Air India’s key European hubs including Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Milan-Malpensa, Vienna, Zurich, and Dubai.
- Bulgaria Air: Enables travel to Sofia via hubs like London Heathrow, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Zurich, and Tel Aviv. Further access is also available to Varna and Burgas within Bulgaria.
- Cyprus Airways: Provides access to Larnaca (Cyprus) via Paris, Milan, and Dubai, offering Indian travelers seamless entry into one of the Mediterranean’s key economic and cultural centers.
- Uzbekistan Airways: Delivers direct connectivity to Tashkent from Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa-Mopa (GOX) with further connections to Bukhara, Samarkand, Fergana, and other Central Asian destinations.
Air India Opens Seamless Pathways to Vibrant Cities
“These four new interline partnerships significantly enhance Air India’s global reach and open seamless pathways to vibrant cities across some of today’s most important emerging markets,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India. “They offer our passengers greater choice and flexibility while reinforcing India’s growing prominence as a global aviation hub.”
Bookings for these new interline connections will progressively open on www.airindia.com, via the Air India mobile app, or through travel agents globally.
This strategic move is a part of Air India’s broader international expansion plan under the Tata Group, aiming to elevate India’s position in global air travel networks.
